What Tool Would You Use To Create Sophisticated Databases For The Web?

There are a variety of tools in the marketplace for developing databases for websites - some of which include PHP/MySQL, Microsoft Visual Web Developer, Ruby, Python, etc., etc. I am looking for something that is powerful yet easy to use. I am most comfortable with PHP/MySQL, but am curious of front-end tools that may or may not use PHP/MySQL on the back-end. What are your suggestions?

  1. You might also look at Microsoft's new Visual Web Developer Express, at the link below. First, it's free. Second, it combines a WYSIWYG editor for web pages with very easy-to-use wizards for connecting to SQL Server, including the free SQL Server 2005 edition. The advantage is that it's an end-to-end solution from the web page to the database. The disadvantage is that it only runs on IIS, Microsoft's web server.
  2. use advanced querybuilder from interakt .
  3. Ruby On Rails is the big thing nowadays. If you're comfortable with OOP and Ruby, it's a breeze and quick as well.
