How many modern operating systems are there?

I can think of Windows XP, Linux, Unix and OSX. Are those the only operating systems in use or are there others? Yeah, I meant still in use.

1. There are lots written for specific tasks. There are the business operating systems including z/OS, VM, VME, OS/400, AIXin the IBM range and others on other manufacturers, Sun Solaris, HP-Unix, Tandem ....
2. Don't forget DOS.
3. There are many operating systems. By modern, I'll assume you mean still widely used. Even looking at it from this point-of-view: Wikipedia lists far more than 50. I recommend looking at the links below for an overview of not only what they are called, but what makes each of them different or unique. Enjoy :-)
