What is the difference between the different operating systems?

esp. windows home, media center, and pro. Can you change operating systems after you get a computer with one pre-installed?

  1. Sure I gess you could...what operating system are you using?
  2. You can chnage OS after preinstalled. You will (unless cleva or backup) lose any data on the pc tho. XP Pro simply provides more netowkring and security systems for advanced pc users but more especially businesses with medium size+ netowkrs. So home really is best for at home. MCE. is like xp norm but has a remotecontrollable system where you can watch tv, videos, pis, music, etc from within a simple interface. obv. to watch to u need tv card in ur pc. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - http://www.3doms.com TechSupport@3doms.com (free) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
  3. there is really no different Windows home it is for peple who just want the basics but still stay up to date WIndows Professional is more techinical it is for business and people who want more than the basics Windows Media Center is the same as Windows pro it just has software named Windows Media center in it and it has better processors video cards sounds cards and motherboards You can have your change to a differrent Os (Operating System) but you might have get and new and better motherboard and processor - This is if you change it from windows home to pro If you want to change from window home or pro to media center you WILL need to change your motherboard, processor , video card, and sound card to new one close to top of the line plus if you want a keyboard for media center it will cost over $100 for one that is not wireless if you dont get these change your computer will be very slow
