How do I install different operating systems on my PS3?

The ps3 can get different operating systems installed, such as Linux, allowing it to be an alternative computer,but how do I install it.

1. i wouldnt try it. unless you know exactly what you are doing leave it alone. install linux on you pc and have a blast. the hardware on the ps3 is not normal computer hardware so i can see no easy way to get it to work
2. Actually installing it on PS3 is probably easier than installing it on PC since the hardware on PS3 is standardized. Here's a couple different version you can try. 3. Previous answer is great, there a lot of step by step guides. But remember that you'll need USB keyboard and your PS3 must be hooked up to HDTV.
