what is the difference between Project Management and Application Management?
Public Comments
- Project Managers usually work with account managers to coordinate and oversee projects and implementations. Application management usually requires a technical background, probably programming.
- well project management is related to managing project tasks or teams. application management is related with managing application development like model, design, implementation . it is all stuffs for s/w development process.
- Think of project management as being an overarching set of processes and Applications Development as being the content that plugs into it. PM says we should break a project into phases. In AD you may have analysis, design, code and test as the phases. PM says you define roles and responsibilities. AD roles may be developer, architect, dba etc. You can take the same Project Management process and plug in something different such as software package selection or building construction or ship building. You follow the same disciplines (manage scope, resources, risks, communication etc) but each industry brings different content to the project. www.projectperfect.com.au
