What programming language to use to write a database program?
If I wanted to make a program that used say a mysql database, what would be the best programming language to learn?

- Id say SQL if you want to interact with the database directly. If you mean you want to access it through a different language other than SQL then i recommend PHP as it is the easiest one i have seen
- For desktop applications: MS SQL Server Database + either VB.Net or C# For web based applications: MySQL Database Server + PHP 4/5 (my personal favorite) - OR - MS SQL Server Database + ASP .NET with either VB.NET or C# In my opinion, Microsoft technologies are comparatively easy to learn.
